M&M cookies


I found a lot of recipes for M&M cookies and I really wanted to give it a try!
I adapted them to the ingredients I already had at home.

My boyfriend and sister liked them A LOT! The great thing is, they are extremely easy and quick to make.

To make about 30 cookies, you will need:
2 cups of self-rising flour
OR (if you don’t have self-rising flour)
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

As you can see, it’s a lot easier (and cheeper) to use self-rising flour, which is flour with baking powder and salt added to it during packaging.

3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup white sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 1/2 cups M&M’s
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Getting started

Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
In a large bowl, mix together the butter and the sugar until light and creamy. Add the egg and egg yolk.
With a mixer on low speed, gradually add the flour mixture.
Stir in the M&Ms and chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Dough will be quite stiff.
Shape dough into balls of 1,5 cm and place onto the baking sheet, leaving about 3 cm between the cookies to allow to spread.
Bake for 13-15 minutes, until cookies are lightly browned.
Allow them to cool down on baking sheet or on a wire rack.
